The Village of St. Jacobs is a great place to start a bike ride or stop along the way. As a designated Ontario by Bike business area, the Village has bike friendly food and drink establishments, attractions and accommodations looking forward to welcoming you!  Enjoy authentic experiences and great places to eat, drink and shop. Bike parking is located throughout the village, including at our Bike Welcome Centres, Home Hardware and CHANGE Lifestyle and Apparel.  Bike parking and a full bike repair kit can be found at the trailhead for the Health Valley Trail.

CYCLING IN AND AROUND THE VILLAGE

Looking for a short to medium ride starting from the Village of St. Jacobs? Start at the trailhead to the Health Valley Trail. There is ample parking beside the trailhead.

Here are four routes to explore. The routes have paved and unpaved surfaces. Road bikes are not recommended.

Village To Market (8.4km round trip)

Travel the Health Valley Trail along the Conestogo River, then take the Avon Trail towards the Farmer’s Market. You will need to cross King Street at the lights to make your way over to the Market District.

Looking for A Multi-Day Biking challenge?

BT 700 (760km): The BT 700 is an open-sourced route and can be tackled at anytime of the year. Once a year, a common BT 700 Grand Depart occurs in St. Jacobs to bring together the bikepacking community.

Not ready to tackle 760km? Try the shorter GNR or Farmers Folly routes also leaving from St. Jacobs.
